Competition Resources

ASHBA Recorded Shows

American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association (ASHBA) is proud to support our members, show management, secretaries and affiliate organizations in their efforts to compete, enjoy and foster the showing of American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred horses. The information on this page is a resource to ASHBA members and the horse show community for ASHBA recorded shows, ASHBA National Select Series , Award programs and more.

All shows must be recorded with ASHBA in order for exhibitors to earn points for ASHBA award programs.  The  following items must be received by ASHBA at least one (1) month prior to the start of the show:  ASHBA Horse Show Application, $50 application fee,  and show's prize list.  A copy of the certificate of liability insurance (with ASHBA named as an additional insured) must be submitted before the start of the show.

Owners, riders, drivers, handlers and trainers of American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred horses showing at USEF licensed competitions, must be ASHBA competing members.

For the ASHBA High Point program, the horse owners and riders/drivers/handlers must be current ASHBA members in good standing. If a horse has multiple owners, at least one owner must be a member.

ASHBA Star Shows

ASHBA Star Shows were created in 2020 to bring organization and benefits to shows that are unaffiliated with the United States Equestrian Federation. ASHBA Star Shows will offer a consistent set of guidelines, along with additional marketing support. Shows will be eligible for the ASHBA Horse Show Grant program and be able to participate in ASHBA awards programs and Saddlebred Record (CH) programs.
