Licensed Officials Education

Thank you for your interest in becoming a licensed official for American Saddlebred, Hackney, Roadster, and Saddle Seat Equitation. ASHBA collaborates with USEF to provide Licensed Officials Clinics to help USEF Licensed Officials and those seeking to become USEF Licensed Officials complete the USEF Licensed Officials education requirement. USEF handles licensing of all equestrian officials, and you may find more information about the licensing requirements and process by clicking here.

Applicant and promotion registrations will not be accepted unless license applications have been submitted through USEF and all eligibility requirements have been confirmed. See the Become Licensed page for complete information.

Upcoming Clinics

ASHBA will be hosting a Virtual Licensed Officials Education Webinar on Wednesday, November 1 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET. The webinar will cover Saddlebred, Hackney, Roadster and Saddle Seat Equitation.  The clinicians will be Fran Crumpler, Melissa Moore and Carol Jones.

The webinar will be open to licensed judges and those interested in learning more about judging standards. Attendance fulfills the clinic maintenance requirements for these officials to renew their license(s).

Applicants must attend the classroom clinic offered at the UPHA CONFERENCE in 2024. This clinic will not count for applicants wanting to pursue their USEF licenses.

Saddle Seat Equitation Section Only-$100

Audit Only-$100 (Not available to Licensed Officials or Applicants)
