The American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) congratulates our 2021 ASHBA National Pleasure Equitation Finals Champion Ava Bertagnolli riding Cinnabar’s Star. Bertagnolli bested a strong field of 17 pleasure equitation entries to take home the victory. Ava’s mother, Jodi Bertagnolli of Heritage Stables in Rices Landing, Pennsylvania, does the training and instructing for this winning team. Ava's partner, Cinnabar’s Star, is owned by Diane Thompson.

Bertagnolli is no stranger to the winner’s circle in the finals for the Pleasure Equitation division. Last year, Ava was the junior division finals champion of the Saddle & Bridle and Pleasure Equitation Olympics. This season, Ava has also claimed the champion title from the  Senior Pleasure Equitation Olympics National Championship and UPHA Pleasure Equitation Challenge Cup Finals at All American Classic earlier this month. In addition to her final victories in pleasure equitation, Ava took home the 2021 Saddle & Bridle Hunt Classic National Final title with the beautiful gray mare, Tinsel.

Reserve Champion Peyton Duerr aboard Undulata’s Crystal Illusion will receive a $500 scholarship from ASHBA and a gift from Becker Brothers LLC. Third place honoree Laney Lonchar aboard Far Away Garfield took home a gift from Becker Brothers LLC.
