ASHBA Aids Ukrainian Animal Rescue Efforts through Microchip Assistance
ASHBA is proud to be able to assist in the Ukrainian relief and animal rescue efforts this week by donating our collection of microchips to aid in exportation.
Helen Rich’s On the Wings of Angels Rescue (OWAR) is one of the many United States based groups working to provide assistance in getting pets and horses in need of rescue of the Ukraine. OWAR is working to aid in the transport of 1000 rescue animals from the Ukraine to the USA, to do so these animals all need to be microchipped to leave Europe.
“ASHBA started investing in having microchips on hand for members interested in using them during the registration process a few years ago,” said David Mount, ASHBA Executive Director. “We were happy to put our microchips to use for such a great cause with a member who has done so much for equines, animals and people in need in our community.”
Thankfully, through OWAR’s resources and the contribution of microchips from groups like ASHBA and many others they have hit their goal of having microchips for each of these animals. We applaud the work that has been done and all that will continue to need to be done to get these animals the care, transport and homes they need.
