ASHBA Announces New Members of the Board of Directors for 2022

The American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) welcomes the new 2022 board members. These board additions represent a wide array of industry and regional perspective. “I am excited to work with the 2022 directors who are a representative board in geography and skillset, bringing a wealth of experience in marketing, communication, breed promotion and grass root efforts to our organization,” said David Mount, ASHBA Executive Director. The new directors joining the ASHBA board of directors in 2022 are:

Allen Bosworth (Greenville, South Carolina) – Allen Bosworth has been an involved member of the American Saddlebred community for over 15 years. He joined the industry through his daughter’s growing interest in riding and showing. Since becoming an American Saddlebred owner, Allen has served the breed at the national and regional level through board, committee, and horse show involvement. Allen has been a past board member of the ASHA, ASB Museum, and ASAC. He currently serves as the president of the JD Massey Horse Show, on the ASHBA Marketing, Finance, Audit, Communications, and Charter Club Committees and is a member of the USEF Breeds and Disciplines Committee. Allen’s wishes to continue to market the breed, making it more accessible to more people, and preserving and expanding our horse shows.

Jennifer Dixon (Vacaville, California) - Jennifer has been an American Saddlebred trainer based in California for more than 30 years, operates a small breeding program and is a USEF licensed official. She has served the industry as a member of the ASHBA Riding Program Council, California Springfest and Futurity Horse Show Committees, and the Northern California American Saddlebred Horse Association. Jennifer’s specific areas of interest include promoting the American Saddlebred, enhancing the positive public perception of our breed, and educating people outside of our industry about driving and the saddle seat discipline.

Christy Parker (Brunswick, Georgia) – Christy currently owns and operates Pine Haven Stables in Brunswick, Georgia where she runs a successful lesson program and fosters riders from the open show circuit to the USA Saddle Seat Team. Christy is extremely active in both regional and national equine organizations and boards. At ASHBA Christy currently serves on the Riding Program Council, Marketing, Saddlebreds Across America, and Youth Committees. In addition to these she is a member of USEF’s Rules Committee and Amateur Task Force, Pro-Am and Georgia Fall Classic Horse Show board, and the American Horse Council Marketing Task Force to name a few. Christy looks to help build our breed’s middle market, promote our versatility outside of the show ring, and work to emphasize the best of our tradidiontal disciplines within the equestrian world.

ASHBA is thrilled to welcome these three outstanding representatives and stewards of the American Saddlebred horse to serve the benefit of our members and the breed. We are grateful to our two board members, Marty Schaffel and Todd Graham, that will be transitioning off the board of directors in 2022. ASHBA looks forward to these gentlemen’s continued contributions on the many committees they serve.
