ASHBA Goes Green with Paperless Registration Certificate Option Available May 1, 2022

In response to requests from our members, Registry Services will offer the option of paperless registration certificates, effective May 1, 2022. Members who still want registration certificates mailed through the US Postal Service still will have that option as well. Sometimes members have asked ASHBA to hold a certificates when a horse has been re-sold and another transfer is being submitted. This policy also will serve owners who would rather have us keep their registration certificates on file indefinitely, even if they are not planning on selling the horse in the near future. If the horse is sold later, a transfer form and fees can be submitted to ASHBA and we will match the certificate on file. If at any time owners would like a paper certificate, ASHBA will be happy to provide one upon receipt of a written request from the owner. Members may also choose to return their papers to ASHBA for safe-keeping at any time.

We are implementing this system so members can indicate on our forms whether they would like a mailed certificate, or if ASHBA should hold the certificate.  Please note that ASHBA members are able to access a Statement of Registration and Recorded Ownership for registered horses on our website under Horse Searches. Per United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Rule SB101, a copy of this document may be provided to competition management at licensed USEF competitions in lieu of copying an original Certificate of Registration.
