ASHBA Presents the Half Saddlebred Futurity Stallion Service Auction and Expo

Half Saddlebred Stallion

Don’t miss the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association’s Half Saddlebred Stallion Service Auction and Expo in its new location at the Topeka Livestock Auction barn, 601 E Lake St, Topeka, IN, Friday, Dec. 8. The auction takes place in conjunction with the Dutch Cross Classic Sale.

Please join us for a free breakfast buffet starting at 8 a.m., followed by Half Saddlebred demos by top trainers all morning, and exciting stallion exhibitions before and during the auction in the afternoon! More than 70 stallion services will be sold at this outstanding event.

Stallion owners still may participate by donating their stallion service, and the best part - there is no charge or obligation for the donation. Furthermore, any stallion owner whose donated service is sold at the ASHBA Half Saddlebred Futurity auction becomes eligible to win money. If any of the stallion's progeny earn prize money in the Half Saddlebred Weanling Futurity at the All American Horse Classic in Indianapolis, IN, in September 2024, the stallion owner stands to benefit. Remarkably, the weanling showcased at the All American Horse Classic doesn't have to be a direct result of the breeding sold at the auction, making this an open futurity for all Half Saddlebred weanlings nominated and registered with the ASHBA Half Saddlebred Registry.

Proposed Schedule:

  • 8 a.m. - Breakfast Buffet
  • 9 a.m. – 1p.m.  - Clinics, Seminars, Demos, and Discussions (until 1 p.m.), featuring prominent industry trainers, including Melissa Moore, Reese and Maison Richey, and Chris and Mary Lou Carrick. Winning Half Saddlebreds and prospects in various disciplines will be showcased in the demonstrations.
  • 2 p.m. - Stallion Service Auction

This year's Half Saddlebred Futurity Stallion Service Auction will bring together horse enthusiasts, breeders, and industry professionals for a day filled with education, excitement, and the chance to support the future of the Half Saddlebred.

Can’t attend? The entire event, including the auction, will be live-streamed, with the opportunity to bid by phone.  Please contact Patricia Edwards at 859-259-3899 or by email, for bidding information. A live stream link will be provided before the event.
