First ASHA Judges Clinic a Success

The first Judges Clinic organized by the ASHA was held in Lexington, Kentucky on October 3rd thru October 5th.

Twenty four people attended the clinic including ten new applicants and fourteen licensed judges working on requirements for promotion and/or for maintenance of licenses in the American Saddlebred, Hackney, Roadster and Saddle Seat Equitation divisions.

According to participants, Clinicians Fran Crumpler and Melissa Moore presented information in a professional, precise and enjoyable manner.

Crumpler noted, "the new applicants were very knowledgeable and seemed truly interested in furthering their education regarding judging, rules and regulations, as well as methodology of judging". Moore added, "I was very pleased with how our first clinic went and look forward to tweaking upcoming clinics make them even better. We had a great group and appreciate everyone’s input!"

The ASHA would like to thank Fran and Melissa for doing such a wonderful job!  Thank you to our fellow affiliate USHJA for use of their wonderful facility for the classroom portion and thanks to the KY Fall Classic Horse Show, Chuck Walker and Paul Boone for facilitating live ringside judging.

The next Judges Clinic will be held in conjunction with the UPHA/ASHA Convention in January, 2020 here in Lexington.
