Help Us #SharetheSaddlebred at 2022 Ohio Equine Affaire April 7-10

This year the American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) is proud to support the return of Ohio’s celebrated Equine Affaire, April 7- 10 in Columbus, Ohio! Over 30,000 are expected one of the greatest equestrian gatherings North American has to offer. We are thrilled to once again have the American Saddlebred be a part of an event that brings horse lovers from all disciplines, levels, and distances together for the love of the horse and equestrian sport.

To help make the breed promotional opportunity and demonstration opportunities possible this year we are awarding the first ASHBA #SharetheSaddlebred Grant of 2022! The ASHBA Grant funds the direct contracts with Equine Affaire event management to cover the stabling, event space and promotional opportunities for the American Saddlebred for the week.

We are grateful to longtime Equine Affaire attendee and enthusiast Blair Cecil for her enthusiasm for making this year possible and dedication to wanting volunteer her time to promote the breed. She will be taking a large American Saddlebred representation from her Phoenix Farm and Lexington Riding Academy team. They have a group of eight American Saddlebred and Half-Saddlebred horses representing many different disciplines and divisions.

“We were thrilled to be the very first recipients of the ASHBA #SharetheSaddlebred Grant, which covers our costs for stalls and the breed information booth. It is an honor and a privilege to represent such a great group of horses and people,” said Blair Cecil. “The interactions we have with those people is so important to us, to be able to clarify any preconceived notions about our breeds, our training methods, our shoeing practices, tail care, and our industry in general. I cannot tell you enough stories about people who have walked away from our talks being enthusiastic and supportive of our horses – which I think is priceless!”

If you are a group looking to promote the American Saddlebred at an event like Equine Affaire and need financial assistance, please contact David Mount d.mount@asha.net to inquire about applying today.

In addition to almost $3,000 in fees covered by the ASHBA Grant Funds there are additional $6,500 costs involved with this event, for which the Phoenix Farm/Lexington Riding Academy would greatly appreciate any additional support in helping them cover in their efforts to help #SharetheSaddlebred! Any contributions made will go towards helping them cover the costs of – fuel/transport, superior stall mat rentals, shavings and lodging for volunteers.

    Stall Mats  $800 Shavings $750 Housing (16 Person Air B&B) $3,125 Transport Fuel $1,500
