Mane Event Horse Show Returns to the Illinois State Fair Coliseum.

September 18, 2019 -- Mid-America Horse Show Association (MAHSA) will host the 2019 Mane Event Horse Show in the newly renovated Illinois State Fair Coliseum of Champions, Springfield, IL, October 17 through 20, 2019. 

The Mane Event Horse Show will feature a full slate of classes for Saddlebreds, Hackney Ponies, Equitation, Open Breed, Roadster and Road Horse classes. Both “A” circuit and “B” circuit points will be awarded. Judging the Mane Event Horse Show will be Fran Crumpler, Maria Gilman and Mike Tunstall. 

New this year at Mane Event will be participation of the American Dutch Harness horses. The American Dutch Harness Horse Association selected Mane Event to be their first qualifying show for the 2020 American Dutch Harness Horse Nationals. The American Dutch Harness horses will compete in the Opportunity and Roadster Horse divisions at Mane Event. 

Mane Event will host The Good Hands National Finals at the 2019 show and is prepared to welcome all Junior Exhibitor and Adult riders who have qualified for The Good Hands National Finals this competition season. The finals is proudly owned by Mid-America Horse Show Association and officially sponsored by National Horseman Publishing.  

Begun in 2017 and continuing for 2019, MAHSA will announce the recipient of the 2019 MAHSA Caretaker’s Award at a special presentation during the Friday evening session of the show. 

“There is more to celebrate than ever this year at the Mane Event Horse Show with the show’s return to the newly renovated Coliseum of Champions arena and the commemoration of Mid-America Horse Show Association 80 years (1939-2019) of serving the horse show community. More to celebrate means more hospitality each and every day of Mane Event”, said Marilou Wilschke, MAHSA Vice-President and Hospitality Chairman. 

Daily -- a refreshment table outside of the Horse Show Office will offer fresh coffee and tea as well as an assortment of treats, including home-baked pastries made by our cuisine-talented MAHSA Board members.

Thursday evening -- a special Champagne Reception celebrating the Mane Event returning to the Coliseum of Champions arena as well as 80 years of MAHSA serving the horse show community.

Friday evening – the focus is on honoring The Good Hands Riders.  This celebration includes food, music and dancing.

Saturday evening -- Exhibitors Party, considered by many to the premier party of the horse show season.   Enjoy the catered stations and make sure not to miss the famous Lobster Bisque.

Sunday – completes the show with “Pizza at the Barn” -- pick up a pizza at the show office to finish the show and pack up your ribbons and equipment to return home.
