St. Louis National Horse Show Adds Saddlebred .90 Meter Jumper Stake and Host ASR Four Year Old Hunter Sweepstakes

It's Just George (123605G)1 and Rachel Kelley Barron

St. Louis National Charity Horse Show continues their strong tradition of showcasing the versatility of the American Saddlebred with the addition of the ASB .90m Jumper Stake. This exciting new class will be offered during the Thursday morning session and will have entries competing on 10-12 jump course with fences at .90m or 2’11” in height.

Jean Mutrux a St. Louis National Board Member and a longtime supporter of the American Saddlebred Hunter division when asked about the new jumper classes stated, "The St. Louis National Charity Horse Show has always been committed to showcasing the versatility of the American Saddlebred. First by offering the Shatner Western Finals almost 30 years ago, and more recently, adding the Working Hunter Classic Finals, which are conducted as it would be on the open Hunter circuit.  Because St. Louis National Charity Horse Show and manager Peter Fenton shares the belief that not only are American Saddlebred's versatile, but understands how to best showcase this, the show has added a jumper class which not only benefit's the show's mission, but to the breed by providing proof that they truly do it all!"

For exhibitors converging at the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show, Saddlebred Week is filled with numerous exciting and prestigious events highlighting the breed’s versatility. Over 30 classes are offered in the western and hunt seat discipline for American Saddlebreds, with opportunity for clinics for both trail and working hunter entries to participate in at the show. In addition, St. Louis typically hosts five National Championship Events for American Saddlebred Pleasure Horses thanks to Saddle & Bridle magazine, and the beautiful Shatner Country Western Pleasure Championships culminating the week on Saturday night. For equitation enthusiasts, we are pleased to host the ASHA National Pleasure Equitation Finals, Saddle & Bridle Pleasure Medallion Finals, and MHSA Junior Saddle Seat Equitation Medallion. In addition, the show proudly hosts a Folds of Honor class for the Veteran Show Pleasure American Saddlebred that raises funds towards scholarships for families of veterans disabled or killed in the line of duty.
