The Big Guy

These horses have been honored with a donation to the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association towards the technology upgrade, which will enhance the ASHBA website and help support the advancement of our breed.

The Big Guy ("Chief," formerly Vanity's Shriver Genius) Bred, raised, shown and loved by Jeff Bolte for 11 years, Chief became my first horse after 40 years away from horses. Originally registered Vanity's Shriver Genius, I renamed him The Big Guy. He was the kindest horse I've ever known... completely safe around tots and elders. He was the Equine Affaire (Columbus, OH), American Saddlebred petting horse in 2003 then wore a Parade saddle for the ASB 2004 Equine Affaire Fantasia performance.

Chief once served as the welcoming committee for a bus load of seniors who were brought to a show. Chief will live forever in my heart.

Show ring photos are fine, but we would prefer personal photos along with a short story of 100 words or less about a favorite memory of your horse. Please email Kimberly Skipton to submit your photos and stories.

Make a tax deductible donation of $200 to ASHBA to honor YOUR special horse on the Wall of Honor, or print out the nomination form (pdf).
