Lightnin’ Lil and I began our journey together in 2002 with Toni Knight as our trainer. Toni closed Lighthorse Stables and joined Biggins Stable in 2004, and so did Lilly and I. In 2005, with the help of John and Renee Biggins, Toni guided Lilly and I to our first World Championship. It was the first World Championship for Lilly and I, and for Toni as a trainer. Lilly and I went on to win five World Championships, the ASB Adult Three-gaited Show Pleasure Reserve National Championship, 18 individual show championships, and two Bluegrass Regional Championships. Lightnin’ Lil was voted Peoples’ Choice Adult Three-gaited Show Pleasure Horse Of The Year for 2007. Lightnin’ Lil was recognized twice as the USEF National Champion Adult Three-gaited Show Pleasure Horse Of The Year. Lightnin’ Lil has won several other High Point Awards as well as the Indiana State Three-gaited Adult Show Pleasure Championship six times, the National Horseman All American Adult Three-gaited Show Pleasure twice as Champion and one Reserve Champion, as well as twice being named the Saddle And Bridle magazine Best Of Breed Reserve Champion. Lilly is a once in a lifetime horse and I feel blessed to be a part of her life.

Show ring photos are fine, but we would prefer personal photos along with a short story of 100 words or less about a favorite memory of your horse. Please email Kimberly Skipton to submit your photos and stories.

Make a tax deductible donation of $200 to ASHBA to honor YOUR special horse on the Wall of Honor, or print out the nomination form (pdf).
