2018 Saddle Seat World Cup Competition

Dear Equestrian Enthusiast,   The United States is hosting the at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky July 4-6, 2018.  This competition is comparable to the Olympics for the discipline of Saddle Seat and this year features competition between Canada, Namibia, South Africa and United States.   Riders in this event are required to ride two unfamiliar horses in collective classes then individual pattern work in either three or five gaited classes.  Since these horses are to be unfamiliar, this competition uses horses donated from the community and barns where the riders may come from.  We will need as many as 55 horses for this event so we will be reaching out to the equestrian community for these horses.    This event has proven to be a great marketing tool; often leading to sale of horses, opportunities for coaches to gain riders from outside of US visiting to get different riding experiences and a successful promotion of the equestrian sports worldwide.

Horses used as part of the event will be honored in the official program Horses can be of any saddle seat type breed for the three-gaited section Horses should be American Saddlebred or National Show Horse for the five-gaited section Horses can wear either a full bridle or a snaffle bridle with two reins and a martingale Horses must have the ability to do both rail and pattern work, but do not necessarily have to be “equitated”

Do you have a horse you would be willing to donate for the event?  If so, contact me and we can discuss the details!   We are also in need of volunteers to serve as grooms, scribes, gate workers, runners, etc..  We will have varying schedules so contact us to find out more.   Financially, we need support to fund the stabling, shipping of horses, rider and officials’ accommodations; welcome and closing dinners, rider’s experiences and much more.  See this for https://www.usef.org/forms-pubs/33FcapBN9XU/2018-usa-saddle-seat-donation-brochure donation levels.   Finally, we want the stands to be filled for this event.  We hope that if you are not able to donate a horse or your time, you will come and support the riders; bringing your lesson kids, adult riders and owners.  We would love to have a huge fan section for the US Team!  Face painting is definitely encouraged!   This Saddle Seat event offers a great opportunity to market our horses and riders to the world.  We hope you will support this tremendous, International Event.   Best Regards, CHARLES E.
