Due to COVID-19 and the resulting cancelation of horse shows across the country, the ASHA National Pleasure Equitation Finals qualifications have been modified for the 2020 competition year.

For show season 2020 only, there will be no minimum show or class qualification criteria for the riders participating in ASHA National Pleasure Equitation Finals. Qualification for the 2020 ASHA National Pleasure Equitation Finals is now open to any individual interested in participating in the Championship with an American Saddlebred or registered Half American Saddlebred pleasure horse.  The eligibility requirement to have shown in at least three shows and competed in six classes has been removed for 2020.

The ASHA National Pleasure Equitation Finals will be held at the St. Louis Charity National Horse Show at the National Equestrian Center from September 23-26, 2020. More information on the St. Louis Charity Horse Show available here.

This final is for riders competing on horses that are registered with the American Saddlebred Registry or with the Half American Saddlebred Registry of America with full mane and tail with natural carriage that have not reached their 18th birthday.

This Championship Class will include of rail work and a posted individual workout. The rail work consists of the walk, trot and canter both directions of the ring.  The workout will be created from Tests 1-16.  This class will be judged based on 50% rail work and 50% workout. All riders will execute the workout.

Horses that are cross-entered in the Country Pleasure division at the same competition may not wear tail sets or bustles while on the grounds. Riders competing in these classes cannot compete in any other Saddle Seat Equitation classes at the same competition except USEF Medal, UPHA, NHS and American Saddlebred Pleasure Classes.

Eligibility is limited to riders showing registered American Saddlebreds or registered Half American Saddlebreds but does not exclude Saddle Seat Equitation riders competing in other competitions on other breeds.
