American Saddlebred Hunter Country Pleasure Division Added to 2019 Kentucky State Fair World Championship Horse Show

LEXINGTON, KY (September 16, 2018)- The Kentucky State Fair World Championship Horse Show announced Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 that the American Saddlebred Hunter Country Pleasure Division will be added to the 2019 Kentucky State Fair World Championship Horse Show schedule.

The division will include a qualifying class and championship for the American Saddlebred Hunter Country Pleasure Division. It will be held in compliance with the other Country Pleasure rules. The class will consist of twenty (20) entries and an entry will be required to show in six (6) classes in three (3) shows in order to be eligible to participate. If entries exceed the number of entries allowed, then points will be applied to determine the entries that can show.

 If you are unfamiliar with the rules for eligibility, you may visit the 2018 Kentucky State Fair World Championship Horse Show website  under “Registration” and refer to the prize list rules located on page 31. If any changes should occur, they will be announced via the Kentucky State Fair and in all industry publications.

The 2019 American Saddlebred Hunter Country Pleasure Division is being sponsored by the following individuals: Elisabeth Goth, Helen Rich, Jeff Winton, Stachowski Saddlebreds, Marie Gwinn, Heritage Stables, Bridget McNeese Cummins, Ghareeb Equine Investments, Rose Hochner Nelson and Phyllis Brannon.

The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) is proud to have yet another division that the versatile and capable American Saddlebred horse can compete in on the world stage. The American Saddlebred is seeing prominent growth of the Hunter Division at current competitions such as the 2018 St. Louis National Charity Horse Show, where approximately 106 entries in American Saddlebred Hunter Classes are poised to potentially compete. The inclusion of this division in our industry’s premier event is mutually beneficial for both supporting our current membership and potential new American Saddlebred enthusiast.

As of this year, the 12 ASHA Regions, which encompasses the United States and Canada, is comprised of approximately 114 competitions and currently offers 290 American Saddlebred Hunter Country Pleasure qualifying classes currently offered as ASHA has record.
