The American Saddlebred Legacy Foundation Announces New Partnership in Equine Initiative

As a young organization in a challenging area we have worked long and hard to position ourselves and the American Saddlebred breed on a respected and competitive level with our peer organizations who are much farther along when it comes to proactive aftercare and second career programs.

We are only as good as our donors and supporters, this is why we want to share this exciting offer/acceptance of partnership and huge opportunity with this national, and really international partner, The Right Horse.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of horses are transitioned from career or ownership. A growing number of these horses end up at risk of inhumane treatment. Led by the WaterShed Animal Fund, The Right Horse Initiative has been developed to unify horse industry professionals, equine welfare advocates, and the broader horse loving public to improve the lives of horses in transition.

The Right Horse Initiative promotes horse adoption as one of the preferred methods of finding your next horse. This unique partnership commits the time, talent, and resources to promote horse adoption through education, training, and public awareness on a national level. Together we will work to achieve our goal to massively increase the number of horse adoptions and placements nationwide.

As a partner in The Right Horse Initiative, we’re proud to support a national movement reframing the conversation about equine adoption. The American Saddlebred Legacy Foundation is working with The Right Horse Initiative to promote equine adoption as well as the bond between horses and humans. We are good people for good horses, and everyone who loves horses has ownership in this movement. To learn more about The Right Horse Initiative, visit the righthorse.org.
