American Saddlebred World Loses Edwina "Joan" Adler

Longtime owner, breeder and exhibitor Edwina “Joan” Adler, 81, passed away at her home in Louisville, Kentucky on June 2, 2018. A native of Maynard, Arkansas, Joan and her Tri-Color Saddlebreds LLC owned many notable world’s and reserve world’s champions including CHSummerfield’s Dream Girl, CHSultry Heiress (dam of WC Crackin Up), CHCallaway’s Crusader, CHColonel Hoss, CHThe Decisive Moment, CHMy Stiletto, I’m An Early Riser, etc. Most recently, Joan was best known for owning and showing the handsome fine harness world’s champion Gothic Revival (sire of world’s champion CHG.V. Silver Oak). Gothic Revival continues to stand at stud under the direction of Melody Adler’s Aurora Farms LLC in Shelbyville, Kentucky. In her younger days, Joan was a professional model who traveled and appeared across the country and also worked as a radio talk show host. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Pleanie and Elreba (Hicks) Evans; sisters, Estelee and Eva; and grandson, Evan. She is survived by her former husband Charles Adler of Kinnelon, New Jersey and their daughter Melody of Shelbyville, Kentucky, as well as two other children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
