American Saddlebred World Loses Wayne Lovell

Wayne Phillip Lovell, 76 of Acworth, GA passed away peacefully on January 9, 2018 after a brief illness.

He was the son of Clem and Alta Lovell, and nephew of Cash Lovell, Sr. Following the family tradition, Wayne trained and showed American Saddlebreds most of his life. In addition to working as trainer and farm manager for the Cason Ives family in Hendersonville, NC for many years, he also trained for Dodie Brown at Pine Springs Stable, Kennesaw, GA before opening his own Skybrook Farm, Marietta, GA in 1986.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Kathryn, daughter Melinda Kolar of Ft. Meyers Beach, FL, son, Marc of Bishop, CA, stepchildren George Lane IV of Duluth, GA, Holly Lane of Atlanta, GA, Jenny Wright of Marietta, GA, sister Arlene Parker of Brunswick, GA, brother Dennis Lovell of Cashiers, NC, and six grandchildren.

A celebration of Wayne’s life is being planned, date and location to be announced.
