ASHA and ASR Boards Come Together to Find Best Approach to Serve Industry
The ASHA and ASR boards are working hand in hand to find a successful path forward for both organizations. The boards met during this year's joint ASHA/UPHA Conference to map out next steps.
“We are focused on addressing the challenges in our industry, for the betterment of our memberships and the horses that fuel our passion," said ASHA President Marty Schaffel. "We all came away from the convention with a long to-do list, but we're certain that, working together, we can create a successful future."
“Both Boards are made up of intelligent and passionate directors” said ASR President Sandra Currier, “And when two groups with the common love of the American Saddlebred come together, I’m positive nothing but progress will come of that.”
The joint Boards agreed on the next action items:
- The officers of the ASR and ASHA will form a Joint Leadership Team to hold frequent meetings.
Small committees will be assembled to tackle complex matters and bring back solutions to the joint boards.
Both boards will come together for an in person meeting to review committee work and continue dialogue.
Discussions will be held about the pros and cons of merging the two entities, as well as separating them.
The first meeting of the Joint Leadership Team will take place this week. Look for more updates to come on the progress from the two boards.
