ASHA EWAC “Spend A Day With…” Auction Fundraiser Raises Nearly $16,000

The ASHA Equine Welfare Advocacy Committee (EWAC) offered 20 once-in-a-lifetime experiences of a Saddlebred lover’s #asbdreams with the “Spend A Day With…” Auction! The auction raised nearly $16,000 for EWAC and will benefit their efforts to assist American Saddlebred horses in public seizures and welfare cases and provide grants to rescues helping these horses. The funds raised will be a great help for EWAC to continue its work assisting American Saddlebreds in several active welfare cases. We are tremendously grateful to every bidder and the members of our community that selflessly gave of their time to help us help American Saddlebreds in need.  

ASHA extends a huge thank you to- Avis Girdler, Cape Cod Equestrian Center, Dr. Hugh Behling of Cross Creek Veterinary, David and Kristen Cater, Desmar Stables, Dr. John Cummins, Marty Schaffel, Allen Bosworth, and Joan Todd, High Caliber Stables, High Spirits Farm, Hollow Haven Farm, Knollwood Farm, Merril Murray, Nelson Green, Premier Stables, RH Bennett and Richfield Video Productions, Shelah Wetter, Singing Hills Farm, Sunrise Stables, The Jerald Sulky Company, and Wadham Stables for donating their time to help American Saddlebreds!  

Every year EWAC grants thousands of dollars to assist American Saddlebreds in legal equine welfare cases and through the Bruce Hanson Grant to rescue organizations working to help American Saddlebred horses. This fundraiser will provide much-needed funds to help continue these efforts and the expected increase of future horses and rescues in need of support in the coming year. EWAC Committee Chair Kathie Dunn Jacobsen and her dedicated committee members work diligently to spearhead programs and assistance efforts to help all American Saddlebreds. We are incredibly grateful to Sandra Currier for leading this effort to organize this fundraiser with the help of Suzanne Mohme.
