ASHA Makes Correction to ASHA BOD Recap to Clarify the American Saddlebred is NOT on Endangered Watch List
In the ASHA BOD recap released on July 16, 2019, it was incorrectly reported that the American Saddlebred is on the watch list for the Endangered Equine Alliance. To qualify for the watch list, the Livestock Conservancy has set a standard of under 2500 registrations annually and under 10,000 in global population. The American Saddlebred does not meet these parameters, nor any of the other more stringent levels of threatened or critical. For a complete list of endangered equine breeds in the United States, please see: https://livestockconservancy.org/index.php/heritage/internal/conservation-priority-list#Horses
The ASHA apologizes for any confusion this may have caused.
