ASHA Welcomes New Honorary Board Members
The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) welcomes Nicole Foster and Rachel Seifert to the Board of Directors as Honorary Directors. Foster and Seifert were elected unanimously by the board to serve as honorary non-voting members on the ASHA Board of Directors. Former ASHA board member and honorary director Joe O’Brien has been voted to fill an open seat on the ASHA Board of Directors. O’Brien will serve out the remaining term of the vacated representative seat. Foster's and Seifert's addition to the board will bring extensive and diverse experience with the American Saddlebred to help serve the mission of the ASHA: to protect and promote the interests of the breed we love.
Nicole Foster-Beck
Nicole Foster-Beck started showing American Saddlebreds in 1986 and opened her own training facility in the Dallas area in 2006. She was named the UPHA Chapter Horse Person of the Year in 2017 and 2014, and has trained several World and National Champion horses and riders. Also, she is currently a member of the ASHA Communications and Marketing Committees.
Joseph O’Brien
Joe O’Brien has been a dedicated member of the American Saddlebred community over a decade. Through his Covered Bridge Farm he has bred, owned and raised many champions in the Saddlebred, Hackney and Roadster divisions. Joe served on the ASHA Board of Directors from 2018-2020 and has also been serving as an honorary director since his term expired. Joe has served on the ASHA executive leadership team of officers and served on many operational and strategic planning task forces.
Rachel Seifert
Rachel Seifert is a long time American Saddlebred owner, exhibitor and breeder and currently lives in Versailles, KY. She currently stands the stud Doctor Dobro MS and has horses at Visser Stables. Rachel was responsible for drafting the ASHA Code of Conduct and currently serves as Chair of the Conduct Review Committee and also serves on the Bylaws and Legal Committees.
