ASHA Welcomes New Special Programs Manager Samantha Geller

The ASHA is pleased to announce that Samantha Geller has accepted the role of Special Programs Manager. This position is responsible for sponsorships, special promotions, the growth of our youth programs, licensed official education coordination, enhancements for our Charter Clubs and special services pertaining to horse show management.

Samantha Geller has experience working in marketing, communications, program development, and youth activities. In addition, Geller has been an avid equestrian in the hunter, jumper and eventing rings.

A  graduate from the esteemed University of Kentucky’s (UK) Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, Geller worked as a consultant for the animal and food safety company, Neogen. As part of a small team, Geller helped conducted product & brand perception surveys and created a marketing strategy for a new bovine product. She was also involved in a project to improve the sales forecasting process and reduce inventory dollars. In her free time, she also runs the Instagram account and helps with social media for a St. Bernard dog rescue.

Prior to beginning the MBA program at UK, she was an intern for UK Ag Equine Programs and the prestigious Gluck Equine Research Center. Geller was involved in content creation for the student aimed publication, Wildcat Canter, and the Bluegrass Equine Digest, a research-based publication for various audiences. She also was involved in research, graphic design, event support, and program creation.

A native of Southern California, Geller started riding regularly in middle school. She competed four years for the University of Kentucky in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) in the hunt seat equitation division where she enjoyed much success. While she has never owned her own horse, Geller thanks all the friends and trainers who have shared and leased their wonderful horses to her over the years. From schooling lesson ponies over fences to working cattle in the Rocky Mountains, she happily shares that she’ll ride just about any horse in any tack.

Before earning her Master’s degree, Geller completed her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky in Equine Science & Management and Sustainability Studies.

 “I am so happy to be joining the team at ASHA. So far, I have only met a handful of members, but they have all been wonderful & passionate horsemen & horsewomen. I am excited to promote the ASHA’s mission to promote, improve and protect the grace intelligence and versatility of the American Saddlebred,” Geller said.
