ASHBA Announces $10,000 Weanling Purse at 2025 All American Classic

The American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association (ASHBA) is proud to announce that $10,000 will be awarded in this year’s Half Saddlebred Weanling Class at the prestigious All American Classic Horse Show in Indianapolis, Indiana. This exciting addition underscores ASHBA’s commitment to supporting breeders, owners, and exhibitors while elevating opportunities for young Half Saddlebreds.

In addition to this year’s enhanced prize, ASHBA has plans for a new Half Saddlebred Futurity model launching in 2026.

The updated futurity model follows best practices from some of the most successful futurities in the industry. Borrowing from long-running programs like the Arabian English Performance Association and Arabian Western Performance Association, the new program is designed to deliver consistency, sustainability, and long-term growth for Half Saddlebred breeding and showing.

The new model will incorporate a transparent nomination processes, attractive payouts, and broad opportunities for stallions and owners, breeders, and exhibitors, allowing all to benefit across multiple divisions. These will encourage the breeding of Half Saddlebreds, as well as create additional markets for Saddlebred stallions and mares.

What’s more, because the futurity is for crossbred horses, the program promises to  create a unified cross-marketing opportunity as well as provide a venue for not just one, but all nominated stallions’ offspring.
