ASHBA Announces 2025 Youth Scholarship Recipients

 
Lexington, KY (November 10, 2025) - The American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association (ASHBA) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 ASHBA Youth Scholarships. Each year, ASHBA honors outstanding youth members, age 21 and under, who demonstrate excellence in academics, involvement with the American Saddlebred breed and ASHBA youth programs, community service, and financial need.
 
For 2025, ASHBA is pleased to award two $5,000 scholarships to Olivia Kritzler and Ashlyn Deaton, two exceptional young members within the Saddlebred community. These scholarships represent ASHBA’s commitment to empowering the next generation of Saddlebred enthusiasts and community leaders.
 
Ashlyn Deaton(1).png  Ashlyn Deaton (Nicholasville, KY) is a junior at East Jessamine High School and     
  competes in the Academy division with Wingswept Farm. Deaton recently competed at    the National Academy Championship Horse Show with Meadow Dream Farm and   
  brought home multiple blue ribbons. Ms. Deaton also serves on the ASHBA Youth   
  Council as the Academy representative.
 
  “I am deeply honored to have been selected as a recipient of this scholarship.
  ASHBA’s support means so much to me, and this scholarship further motivates me to
  continue striving toward my academic and professional goals,” said Deaton. “Thank you
  for investing in my future, and ensuring that I and many more to come will get to chase
  our dreams.”
 
Olivia Kritzler_2025.jpg  Olivia Kritzler (Norwalk, IA) is in her senior year at Norwalk High School in Iowa and     
  has competed in multiple divisions over her junior exhibitor career with Green Wood       
  Stables. Daughter of Rob and Stefanie Kritzler, Olivia has grown up in the industry and
  continues to participate through a variety of youth activities, showing, and being a role    model to her peers.
 
  “I am incredibly honored to be selected for this scholarship. This breed has been such
  an important part of my life, and it’s truly gratifying to see the American Saddlebred
  play a part in furthering my education,” said Kritzler.
 
  ASHBA congratulates Olivia and Ashlyn on this recognition and sincerely thanks all   
  youth members who applied to the scholarship, along with families and supporters who
  continue to enrich the American Saddlebred youth community.
