June 10th, 2026: Lexington, KY – The American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) brought its passion for the breed to the heart of horse country this season, traveling to Louisville, Kentucky, for one of the premier horse shows of the year—the Rock Creek Horse Show. Set in a beautiful outdoor venue, this cherished five-night event once again proved to be a shining highlight of the American Saddlebred calendar and a treasured tradition for the local community.

From the very first night, it was clear this year’s show was something special. The Rock Creek Horse Show showcased an exceptional lineup of American Saddlebreds and Hackney ponies, each performance reflecting the elegance, athleticism, and spirit that define these remarkable breeds. From first-time exhibitors stepping into the ring to seasoned World Champions delivering polished performances, every class carried a sense of excitement and pride that resonated throughout the show grounds. Riders and drivers—both amateur and professional—traveled from across the country, all vying for top honors and the prestige that accompanies a Rock Creek victory.

Throughout the week, ASHBA representatives had the opportunity to connect with a wide range of individuals who make up the Saddlebred community. Conversations with exhibitors, trainers, and enthusiasts highlighted the diverse paths that lead people to the breed and the shared passion that keeps them involved. These personal stories, filled with dedication, perseverance, and love for the horse, served as a powerful reminder of the deep-rooted connections that define the Saddlebred world.

A special highlight of the week was the Youth Council’s hosting of Youth Night, an evening dedicated to engaging in and celebrating the next generation of Saddlebred enthusiasts. Generously sponsored by Sally Jackson, the event featured pizza, games, and a welcoming space for young exhibitors to connect, unwind, and build lasting friendships. The evening proudly showcased ASHBA’s Youth Council and its growing youth programming, emphasizing the importance of fostering participation and creating meaningful opportunities for young members within the industry. Events like Youth Night not only strengthen community bonds but also inspire continued involvement and passion for sport.

ASHBA also engaged members in meaningful discussions about the future of the association, focusing on ways to strengthen programming, enhance member engagement, and expand opportunities for participants at every level—from newcomers discovering the breed for the first time to lifelong competitors continuing their journey. These conversations reinforced the importance of collaboration and innovation in ensuring the continued growth and vitality of the Saddlebred industry.

Beyond the competition, the Rock Creek Horse Show stood as a true celebration of community and tradition. Exhibitors and spectators alike were welcomed with the warm hospitality that has become synonymous with the event. The dedicated efforts of the Rock Creek Riding Club were evident in every detail, from the care of the horses to the experience of every attendee. Their commitment to excellence and support of both competitors and equines continues to set the standard for shows across the country.

ASHBA’s time in Louisville was more than just a visit it was a celebration of connection, tradition, and the enduring love of the American Saddlebred. From memorable conversations to world-class competition, the Rock Creek Horse Show once again demonstrated why it remains one of the most respected and beloved events in the Saddlebred community.
