February 23, 2026: Lexington, KY – The American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) proudly recognized Ashley Cook-Fletcher as the 2025 recipient of the Gordon Jenkins International Award, presented by Jennifer Dixon at the Major Awards Ceremony during the 2026 ASHBA Annual Convention.

The Gordon Jenkins International Award honors individuals whose leadership and advocacy have made a meaningful impact on the American Saddlebred breed worldwide. Ashley Cook-Fletcher exemplifies that global commitment through her dedication to training, promotion, and industry service.

A fourth-generation horsewoman, Cook-Fletcher owns and operates Sterling Stables in Ontario, where she trains horses and riders while incorporating retired Saddlebreds into her adult amateur lesson program. She competes throughout the eastern United States and has played a key role in supporting the Battle of the Breeds at the Royal Winter Fair, coaching clients to multiple victories.

Her outreach extends well beyond competition. Cook-Fletcher has introduced new owners to the breed, reconnected former enthusiasts, and showcased Saddlebreds through magazine features, fashion campaigns, and her annual Adult Bootcamp training program. She has also rescued and rehabilitated Saddlebred mares, returning them successfully to both lesson and show programs.

In addition to her professional work, Cook-Fletcher serves on the UPHA Board, the Breed Sport Committee of Equestrian Canada, and the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Canada, strengthening the breed’s presence across North America.

“Ashley’s dedication reflects the global reach and continued growth of the American Saddlebred,” said Smith Lilly, Immediate Past President of ASHBA. “Her leadership, advocacy, and passion for the breed exemplify the purpose of this award.”

Through international engagement and steadfast advocacy, Ashley Cook-Fletcher stands as a deserving recipient of the Gordon Jenkins International Award.
