ASR FUTURITY UPDATE AND REMINDER OF APRIL 30 DEADLINE

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the deadline to nominate mares and stallions, for 2020 foals, to ASR Futurities (National Three Year Old Futurity, Kentucky Futurity and Kentucky Amateur Futurity) has been extended to Thursday April 30.  The June 15 deadline to nominate 2020 weanlings has been extended to June 30.  Mare and stallion nomination forms must be postmarked and mailed to the ASHA/ASR office, faxed to 859-259-1628 or emailed to [email protected] by Thursday April 30.  Nomination forms may be downloaded on the ASR Futurities page at www.asha.net/registry/prizeprogramsfut/. 

In light of the recent announcement by the Kentucky State Fair that plans are moving forward to hold the World’s Championship Horse Show as scheduled in 2020, ASR is likewise planning to hold ASR Futurities as scheduled.  Should the WCHS be cancelled for 2020, ASR would consider alternative venues at which to hold the ASR Futurities later in 2020.   

As additional incentives to breeders and futurity participants, added prize money will be offered from the Kentucky Breeders Incentive Fund to the top three placed Kentucky-bred weanlings in the 2020 Kentucky Futurity that meet the Kentucky-bred criteria.  For yearlings, funds from the ASHA Stallion Sweeps program will be divided equally among all yearlings placed 1st through 8th in the 2020 Kentucky Yearling Futurity.  The 8th-placed yearling will receive an equal share of the Stallion Sweeps funds as the 1st-placed yearling.  

In 2019, $169,124 in prize money was awarded in ASR Futurities.  Don’t miss your opportunity to participate in the most lucrative and prestigious prize programs in our industry!
