The Bruce Hanson American Saddlebred Welfare Grant Application Deadline September 15, 2018
The Bruce Hanson American Saddlebred Welfare Grant is named in honor of the late Bruce Hanson. Bruce had a great concern for the welfare of the American Saddlebred, and through Bruce’s efforts, the American Saddlebred Horse Association’s Equine Welfare Committee was established. Bruce served as the chairman of the Committee and made the first contribution in support of this grant program.
The purpose of a Bruce Hanson American Saddlebred Welfare Grant is to promote and support the welfare of American Saddlebreds that might otherwise be in jeopardy. To receive a grant, applicants must demonstrate their activities in support of the welfare of the American Saddlebred and how the grant money will be used in furtherance of these activities. The Committee expects that such grants will supplement, not substitute, fundraising efforts by the applicant.
The Committee’s decision to award a grant will rest primarily on the contents of the application. Grants will be awarded in amounts ranging from $250 to $1,000. Individuals and organizations that have previously received support from the ASHA for welfare efforts must wait at least two years before reapplying. All grant applications must be postmarked on or before September 15, 2018 and may be sent to: Bruce Hanson American Saddlebred Welfare Grant Program
