Call to Artists from the American Saddlebred Museum
LEXINGTON, KY – September 12, 2018—The American Saddlebred Museum’s Young Adult Committee is hosting the Sixth Annual Youth, Young Adult, and Adult Art Contest. There is still time to submit your work of art with a Saddlebred theme, representing the breed in the best possible light. All types of artwork are encouraged including photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. In lieu of submission fee, all entrants must be Museum members. Deadline for entries is September 21, 2018. A full listing of submission guidelines are available at www.asbmuseum.org.
The contest will be divided into two age divisions: Youth (18 & Under) and Young Adult (19-35). In addition, there is a division for Amateur Artists (36 & Over). This division will not be judged and no prizes will be awarded, but allows for talented amateurs to showcase their works in the exhibition.
Art will be judged by a panel of experts winners from each of the juried divisons will receive a $100 gift certificate to the Museum’s Gift Shop. Artwork from all division will be on display at the Museum October 1 – November 2, 2018.
The art contest is part of the Museum’s mission to preserve the traditions and promote the heritage of our beautiful athletic horses, through active engagement of the general public and equine community by expanding interest and appeal in our breed.
