From the Desk of Marty Schaffel: And The Beat Goes On
As everyone completes tearing down their booths and loading their horses in trailers, the 2020 WCHS is over. For many, including me, it was far better than we first anticipated. I worried a lot about the issues of COVID, security, and the scaled-down version of social interaction. Everything ran smoothly. Thank you again to Scarlett and everyone else involved for a great job!
As we move forward to finish out the season, I hope we can continue to stay safe and have fun. Business will slowly return to normal. Some things may not change for a while yet.
But we have learned to adapt. We do that well.
I hope we can focus on the balance of the year on the following things:
- Keeping horse shows fun and safe. Like, the Midwest Unfair Horse Show recently did in Iowa!
Building lesson, breeding, and training programs to new levels.
Plan our shows for next year. And finding ways to make them more fun and engaging for everyone.
Bringing success to everyone who depends on this for their livelihoods
Broadening the size and scope of our market.
Making our sport welcoming and inclusive for all who want to participate.
Finding sponsors aside from donations from members to underwrite our programs.
And so much more.
In order to do this, we need lots of help and participation from our members. This is as much about providing your knowledge and expertise as sharing your funds.
We will continue to bring fun and success to all those who desire it as long as we continue to work together. We have come a long way. And we still have lots more to accomplish! Let’s finish this year strong and together.
