From the Desk of Marty Schaffel: Appreciating Thanksgiving
Aside from the usual guilt feelings about eating too much and exercising too little during the Thanksgiving weekend, I come away this year thankful for getting to know so many wonderful people in our Saddlebred Association. I am amazed at the selflessness demonstrated by so many volunteers trying to make a difference to benefit us all.I also want to thank the ASHA and ASR staff for all they do. The work output this year from our dedicated team has been enormous. The quality and quantity of their work product exceed any previous year, I believe.I want to give thanks to everyone’s combined efforts to find ways to increase the size of our market. I also want to recognize the great efforts made to help those who depend upon this for their livelihood. We need our trainers and breeders to be successful in order for all of us to be successful.Lastly, I want to thank everyone for continuing to try to make this sport fun and enjoyable for all of us. This is a hobby. And quite an expensive one. Therefore, we all need to enjoy the experiences we have and make this fun for all.I believe we have come a long way this year towards these goals. I am grateful for everyone’s contributions!
