From the Desk of Marty Schaffel: Happy Holidays

As we finish out the year of 2019, I want to thank all ASHA members and staff for a great year. We have accomplished quite a bit this year. I am grateful for the staff of ASHA and all the work done by the ASHA and ASR teams. Without you, we would have very little to show for the year that has passed. We look forward to reviewing these accomplishments at the UPHA/ASHA conference, and I hope many of you will be able to attend.I would be remiss if I did not take time to remember the many tragic losses we have suffered in our community — people who led full lives and made great contributions to this breed. And sadly, too many who left us way too soon with unfulfilled dreams and aspirations. As we gather to celebrate with family and friends, may we not forget those who meant so much to all of us.I wish everyone a healthy and happy new year, Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all. I truly believe 2020 will be our most exceptional year yet. In the new year, I look forward to seeing us all come together with the singular goal of promoting the success of the American Saddlebred, creating more opportunities for those who derive their livelihood from this industry and sharing in the joy they bring into our lives.

Marty Schaffel, ASHA Interim President
