Equine Welfare Committee 2018 Dna Pilot Program
In keeping with the ASHA’s mission to protect and preserve the American Saddlebred, the Equine Welfare Committee will offer a pilot program in 2018 to supplement the cost of DNA kits for Saddlebreds rescued by 501(c)(3) organizations or obtained in at-risk situations. These situations are defined in the American Saddlebred Registry (ASR) Rules, Section V, Subsection E, Paragraph 4.
The committee will supplement 50% of the cost of DNA kits for Saddlebreds rescued by 501(c)(3) organizations.
The committee will supplement 30% of the cost of DNA kits for Saddlebreds obtained by individuals via unlicensed auction, legal seizure, or adoption from a 501(c)(3).
Requests for these subsidies may be made directly to the Registrar of the ASR, Lisa Duncan, [email protected]. We appreciate the community’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of our breed.
