Free Zoom Yoga for Equestrian Athletes Session for Saddlebred Community
Join Kate (Grom) Burnett this Saturday for a free, online yoga class! This class will focus on strength, flexibility and balance as we balance the dominant (overused, highly engaged) and non-dominant (weak, less engaged) muscle groups involved in equestrian sport. The goal is to bring the body back into alignment by releasing tension and building strength respectively in these areas. We will unravel the tight muscles and strengthen the weak muscles that contribute to knee, hip, lower and mid back pain. This class is open to all levels, no experience is necessary to join in - so bring your trainer, instructor or a barn friend. She will have modifications to support you every step of the way. We will do breathing exercises and Gravity poses that can be incorporated into your daily life, horse show warm up or cool down routine. Expect a dynamic, athletic, vinyasa flow. All you need is your laptop or mobile device, yoga mat, a pillow or small blanket! This class will run for 1 hour and 15 minutes as to leave time for a brief Q&A.
