Important Reminders for 2020 Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show
Below are a list of important reminders and updates (as of Aug. 18) from WCHS management all attendees of this year’s Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show need to know. In addition to this list it is highly recommended to reference the video and FAQ from the 2020 WCHS Town Hall hosted by the Joint Leadership Council and the USEF COVID-19 Action Plan for USEF-Licensed Competitions.
- ONLY Gates 1 and 4 will be open, this is to check temperatures. No other gates will be open.
Everyone’s temperature will be checked at the gate, you will be given anarmband for that day which you must wear all day. If you lose the armband you will have to be checked again.
Individuals that do not leave the grounds must have their temperature checked daily at the old Horse Show office where they will receive an armband. The Office will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
If anyone’s temperature is over normal you will not be allowed on the grounds.
If anyone who is staying on the grounds temperature is above normal you will be asked to leave the grounds immediately.
Each day you will be given a different armband and it must be worn for entrance into any building, Freedom Hall and/or North Wing.
The Make-Up ring will be for trainers, grooms and riders only. No one else will be allowed in there.
You will not be able to walk through the make-up ring for entrance into Freedom Hall.
Trainers and grooms must wear their masks and practice social distancing while in the make-up ring and on the rail.
Trainer & groom armbands will get you upstairs to watch all performances.

You must have a trainer/groom/or exhibitor armband and the daily temperature armband in order to enter either building.

You can enter Freedom Hall by entering the North Wing and going to the end of it.
You can enter Freedom Hall by the Northwest doors.
These are on the other side of the make-up ring.
There will be golf cart parking close to these doors as well as VIP parking.
There are elevators in the middle of the east and west concourses, as well as in the back.
Everyone must have a mask on while on the grounds and practice social distancing.
Health Department officials from Jefferson County and Franklin County will be on the grounds observing throughout the show. It is very important that you wear the mask and social distance in order for them to not stop the show.
Riders and drivers while on the horse and in the buggy do not need to wear the mask
No congregating in the barns, only the rider and, if a minor, a parent can be in the barns.
No media is to be allowed in barn area either.
