River Ridge Charity Horse Show 2026

 

May 20, 2026: Columbus, OH – The 2026 River Ridge Charity Horse Show celebrated their 80th anniversary in style. The American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association attended to support youth activities and connect with exhibitors and spectators.  

Set at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus from April 22-25, the show saw deep competition with many World’s Champions, new combinations, and young horses debuting for the year. The show’s management team did an excellent job hosting everyone, as their wonderful hospitality did not go unnoticed. This show was host to large pleasure classes, poised equitation riders, and nice performance classes with quality American Saddlebreds.  

Also hosted at River Ridge was the Sunrise Junior Horse Hunter Challenge, a class growing in popularity across the country. This incentive class is run by Melissa Moore to promote the cultivation of Saddlebred Hunters by getting them into the showring to help market hunters and bring more value to the division. Taking the honors at River Ridge was Kim Backlund and I’m Pretty Nutty, a horse Kim bred and raised and is now showing under the direction of Kathleen Flower.  

ASHBA Youth had a fantastic time at River Ridge! The WGC CH Undulata’s Johnny Rebel Meet & Greet started off our evening and coming back for a second year in a row, Junior Judging had a great turnout. Featuring guest judge Katie Case, she shared her judging expertise with the junior judges. Youth Council members, Jacqueline Schatzberg and Abby Connolly helped facilitate Junior Judging that evening with ASHBA staff. It’s always a fun time with ASHBA Youth and we couldn’t do it without the help and support from the horse show, the show volunteers along with the generous Junior Judging sponsorship by Sally Jackson.  

ASHBA Junior Judging was a fun night for all with fun treats from the show and insights from Katie Case. Special mention to our Junior Judging fans, Ellis Orr and Coco & Ava Morrison, whose enthusiasm did not go unnoticed! See the full results below.
