Saddlebred Stars Shine at BreyerFest 2019

BreyerFest 2019 “Salute to Heroes” brought thousands of horse lovers young and young at heart to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington last weekend. The storied event brings the famous and coveted model horses to life and lets attendees’ imagination become a reality for two magical days. The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) was proud to assist in organizing two demonstrations of a great group of American Saddlebreds. We share our deepest gratitude to Holly Armstrong and Paddyngton’s Mark of Distinction for representing the parade division and living American Saddlebred Breyer Model horse,  Blue Willow Farm and Rocky Mountain Memories for representing the hunter division, the Bosworth Family and CH I'm Something Wicked for representing the five gaited pleasure division and Joey Nueman and The Kingmaker for demonstrating the three gaited show pleasure division.  Our 2019 BreyerFest breed demonstrations would not have been possible without the generosity and dedication of these individuals and their support teams.

These #SharetheSaddlebred stars were perfect representatives of the breed and impressed everyone they met. The Horse America Made put on quite a show for the very appreciative crowd. Performing to the soundtrack of the 2017 Hollywood blockbuster “The Greatest Showman” four American Saddlebreds dazzled the audience with their beauty, presence, and kindness. In between demonstrating their different competitive divisions, our breed ambassadors treated the lucky onlookers in the stands to impromptu petting sessions from rail side.

In addition to putting on a show for those in attendance for the demonstration our volunteers, breed ambassadors and ASHA staff greeted and educated interested fans at the stall area for hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  From introducing visitors to the breed for the first time to teaching on the care, love and training these equine athletes receive. We invited all visitors and demo audiences to come and enjoy more American Saddlebreds at the 2019 Lexington Junior League Charity Horse Show.  It was a treat to share the history, versatility, and nature of the American Saddlebred with these passionate horse lovers!
