Saddlebred Strong: ASHA Youth Anna Christy Begins Fight Against Brain Cancer

ASHA Youth, Anna Christy is fighting against a rare form of brain cancer. After 3 weeks of unusual headaches, Anna was diagnosed with a Medulloblastoma tumor, a rare form of brain cancer on January 29th. Anna quickly had to undergo immediate surgery to remove the brain tumor on January 31 at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. 

Anna has dedicated her young life to the American Saddlebred and being an equestrian. Shw was the 2017 ASHA Youth Age 14-20 Award Winner and is vital member of the Wallen West Golden Spurs Youth Club. As fellow Wallen West barn mate Kendall Kelledy shares “She is not only a friend, but a mentor as well. She helps with lessons at the barn and is always willing to lend a hand. It was shocking to find out that my dynamic loving friend has been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer. . I was hoping we could share her information with our horse community in an effort to encourage Anna with her long battle ahead. Anna is a fighter who has always been passionate with her love of horses.”
