Saddlebred World Loses Jesus Gomez Gonzalez

Jesus Gomez Gonzales, 75, of Springfield, Kentucky passed away December 7, 2020. He was a cherished member of the Kalarama Farm team since 1976. A member of the UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame, recipient of the Rock Creek Horse Show Caretaker Award, and caretaker and mentor to many celebrated members of Kalarama Farm. He began his career in the American Saddlebred industry working for Charlie Smith at Rock Creek Riding Club. In his career, he cared for such greats as CH Our Canary Diamond, CHGarland's Dream (BHF), Harlem Globetrotter, Razor Sharp, CHVanity's Showcase, Kalarama’s Country Boy and many more.

“We are deeply saddened with the loss of Jesus Gonzalez. For over 40 years, Jesus has called Kalarama home. Not only did he take care of some of the greatest horses to set foot on the farm, he also took care of his people. He was a friend to all that knew him and was loved by many. He left a deep stamp not only on Kalarama, but the entire industry. He will be sorely missed.”
