Saddlebred World Loses Larry Denny
We are saddened to share the loss of long time American Saddlebred enthusiasts Larry Denny. He was a friend to many and a champion of showcasing our breed’s versatility in Combined Drivng. A lifetime equestrian who was dedicated to being a horseman from his work as a blacksmith to owning a team that included a Half-Saddlebred that competed at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Combined Driving. Always a supporter and resource to the Saddlebred community we appreciate all he did.
As his longtime friend and fellow Combined Driving enthusiast Darryl Leifheit shared, “I was blessed to have met this man and considered him a friend; [he] will certainly be missed. He personally drove and competed a pair of American Saddlebreds in various Combined Driving events where I first met him. He loved our breed and we discussed this mutual feeling often. He admired my champion CDE single driving horse and former five-gaited gelding Singsation.”
