Saddlebred World Loses Neil “Cowboy” Martin
Neil Edward “Cowboy” Martin, 62, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 after a battle with ALS. Born in Alabama after his family moved to Harrodsburg, Kentucky his road to falling in love with the American Saddlebred and its community began. He worked for some of our breed’s most accomplished horseman and cared for some of our greatest athletes.
He was an integral part of the operations of Tom Moore, Donna Moore, Nelson Green, and John Conaster. Caring for champions such as CH Home Town Hero, CH Caramac, Callaway’s Blue Norther, CH Crystal Vision, CH Night Prowler and CH Captive Spirit.CH City Kitty, CH Cynthia's Party Punch, CH Rhythm 'n Jazz and TNT to name a few.
He was a member of the UPHA Caretaker Hall of Fame, friend to horseman far and wide and a sought after truck driver during his time hauling for Southern Venture and Creech Horse Vans.
