Tuesday

8:00 AM- 5:00 PM ASHA Judges Clinic Day 1*Must Register with ASHA Prior*

The ASHA Judges Clinic is for anyone needing to get educational hours, start the licensing process or interested in learning more about judging standards for Saddlebred, Hackney, Roadster and Equitation classes. The clinic is facilitated by Fran Crumpler and Melissa Moore.  

Wednesday

Session open to all conference attendees. Join the EWAC leadership as they present their 2019 activities and discuss their 2020 objectives to continue to help the American Saddlebred and our community.

10:00-11:00 AM ASHA Riding Program Council Marketing Workshop

Digital Marketing in Minutes with Jessica Cushing and “Thinking Outside the Box” with Betsy Boone.

This year the ASHA Riding Program Council session will put an hour towards helping attendees in areas of marketing and creating valuable opportunities for your business and clients. This session is open to ALL conference attendees.

Hands on instruction for Digital Marketing in Minutes from Jessica Cushing will focus on simple and basic digital marketing tools that can help you promote your barn, horse show or community events. The areas of focus will be getting you familiar and teaching you how to use basic digital resource to edit graphics and videos, create a Google Ad, create a free website, the power of a blog and social media ad and post tips.

Betsy Boone and Jessica will also host a discussion on “Thinking Outside the Box” when it comes to your riding program and client opportunities. The areas of focus will be how to create the most value for different levels in your market and diversifying your barn brand to get and keep people in the barn.

We request all who are attending for the Digital Marketing in Minutes please bring a laptop, tablet or smart phone with you. This part of the session will be a workshop setting of an interactive learning opportunity not a lecture. 2:00-3:30 PM ASHA General Membership Meeting

Join the ASHA leadership as they make their 2019 Annual Report to membership and preview the areas of focus for 2020. ASHA Interim President Marty Schaffel, Interim Executive Director David Mount, Committee Chairs and guests, will do presentations. With so many initiatives accomplished in 2019 this will be a great opportunity to see how the ASHA worked for you in the past year and the better future for the breed we are working for in 2020.

3:30-5:30 PM ASHA Continuing Education presented by Independent Equine Agents:  Harnessing Digital Marketing to Grow Your Business Guest Speaker: Chad Mendell

Chad Mendell is the founder of Equiseen, a digital marketing agency that focuses on the equine niche. He is the past executive editor of The Horse and TheHorse.com where he authored more than 300 articles and developed an array of online educational products including videos, newsletters, and live webinars. Over the years, he has worked with companies such as Campbell’s Soup, Pfizer Animal Health, Intervet, Merial and Bayer Animal Health to launch new products and educational initiatives. Chad writes and speaks on marketing and business topics for the top horse professional associations such as the American Equine Trade Association, United Professional Horseman's Association, the Indiana Horse Racing Commission, and the American Horse Publications. All are welcome to join the Charter Club Council for informative sessions on how to set up a 501c3 for you Charter Club and horse shows and a Q & A panel on marketing, promotion and membership tips. The council wants to help increase the value of the regional experience and exposure of the American Saddlebred and this session will be full of helpful discussion and tips.

9:00 AM 11:00 AM ASHA Continuing Education presented by Independent Equine Agents: 4 Critical Steps for Horse Business Success Guest Speaker: Elisabeth McMillan

Elisabeth McMillan is an equine business consultant and the founder and editor of the horse business site EquestrianProfessional.com.  Currently, Elisabeth is working with ASHA to provide a six-month business development and support program for Saddlebred businesses. This is an exciting business building and education opportunity to these Saddlebred barn business owners across the United States. ASHA is investing in its memberships to help strengthen the promotion and representation of the American Saddlebred breed in more regions and markets.
