Write a Thank You Letter to Your American Saddlebred

November is a perfect time to reflect on what we are thankful for in our lives. One thing that unites us all are the great American Saddlebreds we are grateful to have had grace our lives and help make our #asbdreams come true!

This month ASHA will be featuring a series of special Thank You letters between some of our favorite Saddlebred combos across disciplines and levels of competitions! Regardless of how you are involved with the Saddlebred, they make us feel whole, fuel our fire, and teach us invaluable lessons about life and ourselves. This series is a way to share not only the love we have for our American Saddlebreds but spotlight all the areas of our life that we are grateful to have our four legged best friends awaiting us in the barn.

If you could write a thank you letter to a special American Saddlebred in your life (past or present) what would you say?  What would you tell the horse that help you achieve a special goal? How would you let a heart horse know how appreciative you are for them?

Letters that are selected to be featured will be entered for the chance to win some great items from the ASHA and USA Saddle Seat.

How to Participate

    Submit a letter written in the format of a thank you note Monday, November 16 at 12 PM Eastern. Letters must be at least 500 words  At least two photos that complement the piece, one of which must be horizontal/landscape in orientation, must accompany letters. The photos you submit MUST be able to be published by the ASHA and please include any photography credits for professionally taken photos. Along with your letter and photos, please include your American Saddlebred’s registered name, your full name, age, and the state that you live in. All letters and photos can be submitted via email to [email protected] with subject line “Thank You Letter to My American Saddlebred”. We will notify you that your letter has been selected to be published by Wednesday, November 18 and contacted for your mailing address.
