Youth Events at World's Championship Horse Show

Don’t miss out on all the fun and educational activities ASHBA has planned for members at this year’s World’s Championship Horse Show. All ages are welcome to participate in a variety of activities throughout the week. We are thankful for the support of Sally Jackson to bring a full slate of fun, educational and engaging activities for youth participants.  

Saturday August 19th at 7:00pm: Horsing Around - Horseless Horse Show Preparation

Location: Club Room, 2nd Floor of Freedom Hall

Paint your cart, polish your bridles and take a practice run before the big Horseless Horse Show on Thursday night.

Monday August 21st at 7:00pm: Junior Judging Contest

Location: Club Room, 2nd Floor of Freedom Hall

Come grab a slice of pizza and walk in the shoes of a WCHS Judge by participating in the Junior Judging Contest during classes 72 to 77. Awards will be presented to the winners in the 13& Under and 14-21 age divisions. Awards presented Friday Night.

Tuesday August 22nd at 5:30pm: Frist Timer Exhibitors Celebration

The 2023 WCHS first time participant program is made possible by the American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association and sponsor Independent Equine Agents. First time exhibitors and trainers are invited to join us in center ring on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. for a celebration. All attendees will be gifted a commemorative ribbon on the famed green shavings. 

Wednesday August 23rd at 6:30pm: Junior Judging Contest & Get to Know USA Saddle Seat Team

Location: Club Room, 2nd Floor of Freedom Hall

Come grab some Chick-Fil-A as you get to know the USA Saddle Seat Team. Following that, try your hand at placing classes during our Junior Judging Contest from classes 149 to 154. Awards will be presented to the winners in the 13& Under and 14-21 age divisions. Awards presented Friday Night.

Thursday August 24th

11:30am to 2:00pm: "The Big Dance" Bowling Party. Registration encouraged!

Location: Executive Strikes and Spares Family Fun Center, 911 Phillips Lane, Louisville KY 

Join us for an exciting afternoon of bowling at the ASHBA Youth Bowling Party with pizza, arcade games, karaoke and a golf cart parade and contest. The top bowling score for each age group (10 and under, 11-15, 16-21 and 22 and up) will be awarded ASHBA prizes.   Date: Thursday Aug 24, 2023 Time: 11:30 A.M. Golf Cart Parade and Awards (Eastern Daylight Time) 12:00 P.M. Bowling Party Eastern Daylight Time) Location: Executive Strike & Spare Family Fun Center: 911 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY 40209 Golf Cart Contest/Parade at 11:30am All ages are welcome. Golf carts to be judged in the following categories: Saddlebred Spirit, Barn Theme, Horse's Name. A $20 entry fee will be collected online via ASHBA's Kindful Platform. All entry fees will directly contribute to ASHBA's Youth Scholarship Fund! Submissions are due by 9:00 A.M. Thursday, August 24. Please EMAIL a photo of your golf cart to youth@Saddlebred.com to be considered for prizes! Parade and Awards Ceremony to commence at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 24th in Executive Strike and Spare's parking lot. Drivers must possess a valid driver's license.
