Youth Scholarships Offered by the American Saddlebred Horse Association

This August at the World’s Championship Horse Show, the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA), will award three $5,000 Foundation scholarships to deserving youth involved with American Saddlebred horses.  In addition, two $5,000 memorial scholarships in memory of John Biggins, will be awarded to deserving youth who intend to pursue a career in the Saddlebred industry.

These scholarships are available to any member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association age 21 and under, at grade 11 or higher. Scholarships will be awarded to high school graduates or those students whose graduation is imminent based on academic success, financial need, extracurricular activities, involvement with American Saddlebred horses, and personal references.

The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage, support and recognize participation in all aspects of the American Saddlebred industry, as well as to strengthen the American Saddlebred industry and breed through education.

Completed applications are due in the ASHA office no later than April 30, 2019. For more information on scholarships and the necessary documents that need to be submitted, please visit https://asha.net/clubs/youthscholarships/.

Those interested in applying for a 2019 scholarship, or those individuals and groups interested in making a tax deductible contribution to the ASHA Scholarship Fund, should contact Alexandra Harper, ASHA Special Programs Manager [email protected], (859) 259-3880.
