Katriona Adams Announces Retirement After 19 Years of Service
April 23, 2026: Lexington, KY – After more than 19 years of dedicated service to the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association, Katriona Adams, Registrar, has announced her retirement as she relocates to Zephyrhills, Florida.
Throughout her tenure, Katriona has been a cornerstone of the Registry, with her name appearing on the papers of over 16,000 horses. Each one reflects her precision, consistency, and unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of the breed. Her work extended beyond daily operations, contributing meaningfully to numerous committees and councils and helping uphold the standards that define the Association.
Katriona has consistently demonstrated a deep respect for the rules, a strong sense of responsibility to the mission of preserving the purity of the American Saddlebred, and a level of professionalism that has earned the trust of members across the industry.
In her own words, she will miss the American Saddlebred community, many of whom have become like family over the years.
We thank Katriona for her years of service, her expertise, and her lasting impact on the Association and the breed. We wish her all the best in this next chapter and are grateful that she will continue in her role for a transitional period to help train and support the new Registrar.
